Saggy breasts may be caused by pregnancy, childbirth, rapid weightloss or aging, and it can cause inconvenience due to saggy skin and derease in confidence in beauty, causing mental stress.

A breast lift, also known as mastopexy, raises the breasts by removing excess skin and tightening the surrounding tissue to reshape and support the new breast contour. New statistics from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons show breast lifts have grown 70%since 2000, outpacing breast implants 2-to-1. Sometimes the areola becomes enlarged over time, and a breast lift will reduce this as well.

Stage A Breast Ptosis
The nipple is at the level of the line underneath the breast, or drooped less than 1cm from this line.
Stage B Breast Ptosis
The nipple is drooped about 1-2cm from the line underneath the breast, but remains above the lowest Stage C level.
Stage C Breast Ptosis
The nipple is facing downward because it is drooped more than 3cm from the line underneath the breast.
For breasts that are slightly saggy and small, correct can be achieved with breast augmentation. If general breast augmentation is not enough for correction, ‘dual plane’ method is more effective. ‘Dual-plane’ breast augmentation can be done through an areolar incision or inframammary fold approach.
For breasts with inadequate volume and moderate to severe ptosis, breast augmentation alone is not enough for correction, and additional mastopexy is required. Periareolar mastopexy, vertical mastopexy, or Wise/T-shape mastopexy can be done concurrently.
For large ptosis breast, mastopexy alone may be the best option to correct to ptosis.
