Neurotoxins

Forehead Wrinkles and Frown Lines

Forehead lines and the 11s between your brows come from years of expression. Here's how neurotoxins smooth them while keeping your face looking natural.

Overview

Lines you make every day

Forehead lines run horizontally across the forehead and show up when you raise your eyebrows. Frown lines, often called the 11s, are the vertical creases between your brows. Both can make you look tired, stressed, or annoyed when you're none of those things.

How they form

These are dynamic wrinkles, meaning muscle movement creates them. Every time you raise your brows, squint, or concentrate, the skin folds in the same place. Over the years, as collagen declines and sun damage adds up, those folds start to stay even when your face is relaxed.

How neurotoxins help

Botox, Jeuveau, and Xeomin relax the specific muscles behind these lines so the skin can smooth out. Dosing is adjusted for your face, so you still look like yourself and can still move your brows. The injections take a few minutes. You'll start to see a difference within several days, with the full effect at around two weeks, and it typically lasts three to four months.

When lines are deeper

Lines already etched in at rest may need more than a neurotoxin. Pairing it with resurfacing such as CO2 laser can help. And if a low, heavy brow has you lifting your forehead all day, a brow lift may address the root of it.

Recommended Treatment

Botox

Botulinum toxin, known as Botox, is extracted from bacterium called Clostrudium Botulinum. It was originally manufactured via an American pharmaceutical company called Allergan, Inc. After approval by the FDA, it is now widely utilized. The effects of Botox can often differ according to an individual's reaction to the dosage, body, concentration degree, and the accuracy of the injection. The effective period usually lasts 3 to 6 months then slowly returns back to a person's original state. Because of this, repetitive injections are required to maintain the effects. CK Plastic Surgery utilizes original and highest-quality available Botox.

What is Botox?

‍

Botox is a brand name for a purified protein called botulinum toxin type A. When injected in small amounts, it temporarily blocks nerve signals to muscles, causing them to relax. This relaxation smooths out wrinkles and lines caused by muscle movement.

‍

How does Botox work?

‍

Botox works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter that signals muscles to contract. By inhibiting these signals, the targeted muscles relax, reducing the appearance of wrinkles like frown lines, forehead creases, and crow's feet.
